Family Tree- On family search, ancestry, and other family history sites there is a feature where you can view your family tree or family chart. This allows you to see whom you are connected to in your family line. If others in your family have worked on your family tree, then you will have seen ancestors connected to you already. If this is not the case, then you will not see anyone else connected other than yourself and your spouse. There is an option for you to connect your unfinished family line with another family member if they have updated research on your family tree.

Indexing- Many historical documents are waiting to have their information transferred from physical form to a digital copy online. There are many names in these historical documents with important dates and family connections listed. As we help to index these historical documents to a digital copy online, we are providing more information for everyone to access family names and important dates they may not have.

Family memories- We all know of living family members that have photos, birth/death certificates, and other important documents of past ancestors. It is great to know these important photos and documents exist. Though it can be difficult to learn more about our ancestors when we can’t access these family records whenever we would like. Putting our family records online is a big help to all living family members who would like to learn more about their past ancestors.

Unfinished tasks- On Family Search, there is an option to complete any tasks connected to your ancestors. There are different colored icons next to your family members that pop up. Most icons that pop up are related to temple work that needs to be done on those specific ancestors. There is a blue icon that is designated for ancestors who have historical record hints that need to be compared to their name. These record hints are documents that have been indexed. The information indexed is then presented as a possible match for your specific ancestor. You can click on these documents and compare them with your ancestors to find out if they are a match or not. These record hints are very helpful in helping complete your family information.
