Hey everyone! I am excited about starting this journey with all of you. My hope and vision for this family history blog is to share with you my findings on how to do family history work efficiently and quickly. Please ask me questions and if I don’t know the answer right off the bat I have sources I can find the answer for you from. I know being a part of family history is so vital and necessary. President Nelson stated in a talk in October 2017, titled: Open the Heavens through Temple and Family History Work. “I like to think about the spirit of Elijah as “a manifestation of the Holy Ghost bearing witness of the divine nature of the family.’” “And that means sacrificing time we normally spend on other activities. We need to spend more time in the temple and doing family history research, which includes indexing.”

It is important for us to do family history work now. I would like to dedicate this blog to mainly being about helping us accomplish this great goal. I know that we all have different responsibilities in life. We are very busy. There are times throughout the day where we may find we have 20 minutes to spare. I would encourage you to take advantage of this time and go to your Family Search app on your phone. There you can familiarize yourself with your family line. Some of you may have a lot and others very little information on your family tree. Wherever you are starting from, it will be a great place to start.

I have spent time trying to do family history work on my own. I have made some progress, but the blessings I have noticed from doing this have been tremendous. I feel uplifted, clear-headed, and closer to the Godhead. Everything else in my life seems clearer and easier to accomplish. The only reason I can see why this is because when we do what our Savior, Heavenly Father, and the prophet ask of us, we are blessed for it. I know that They can help us accomplish our goals with this great work and help you in your everyday lives with everything else that matters to you. When we put God first, everything else falls into place. Doing this will take discipline and effort. With God, nothing is impossible. You ask him for help, opportunity, and diligence to partake in this work. He will bless you and help you. If there is any doubt in your mind, you can’t do this; remember the story of the man who asked Jesus to heal his child. In Mark 9 verse 23 and 24 it says, “23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.
24 And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.” By turning to our Savior, Jesus Christ, and believing with Him all things are possible, we will be able to help many of our ancestors across the veil return to live with Him again. We can do it with His help and guidance. With God, nothing is impossible!
